Kiru
was born the only son to minor samurai. Prior to reaching his gempukku,
Kiru's father became a devout christian, and left his role as a warrior
for the monasteries of the church. Kiru, a large boy with great strength
and martial prowess was a reluctant samurai at first. He much preferred
music and painting to drills and kendo, but realized that as the only
son, it was his responsibility to fill his father's role. He completed
his gempukku at the young age of 12, and assumed command of his father's
cavalry unit. Once, and only once did anyone publicly undermine his
authority because of his age, and the now ,massive Kiru beat him sensless,
drug him to the roof of the castle, and threw him from the ramparts.
He has brought this mixture of quiet calm and ferocious strength to
his units, which are well known for their merciless slaughter and great
artistry off of the field.
